Recently, there have been a lot of questions about people buying PingPong accounts that others registered but haven’t used. So what’s the real purpose behind this?
PingPong is a service that supports receiving international payments, providing multi-country bank accounts such as US, Europe, Canada, Australia, and the UK, helping users receive money from foreign platforms or markets that can’t be paid directly through a Vietnamese bank.
In many cases, sellers on e-commerce marketplaces or online sales platforms often need to create several different US bank accounts to reduce the risk of being locked out or losing access when relying on just one account. So the demand for buying a ready-made PingPong account is a way for them to quickly get multiple international bank accounts without registering each one themselves.
A new PingPong account, once documents are verified and there’s at least a $1 withdrawal transaction from a platform or market into the account, automatically gets 10 sub-bank accounts opened. Once the total amount received reaches $1,000, you get 10 more sub-bank accounts opened. In addition, a new account receives 2 US virtual Visa cards for use in advertising or paying for services that require a US Visa card.
Using a US virtual Visa card is very convenient for running ads, since opening a Visa card through a traditional bank usually comes with a card-opening fee and fairly high maintenance fees.
Although selling a PingPong account can be financially beneficial in the short term, you may lose more than you gain in the future, especially if you plan to grow a business based on the POD (Print On Demand) model or other fields that need diverse international payment methods.
Specifically:
For these reasons, selling your PingPong account could cost you the opportunity when you need effective international business support services later, creating a bigger downside than the immediate benefit.
You should think carefully before deciding to sell your PingPong account. Think of it not just as a bank account, but as an important tool that will strongly support your future international business plans. The final decision is still yours.
